Now that we have this, I don't know what we'd do without it.

We purchased two of these (which is, I believe, about 60' square feet of play area?) and combined them with Edutile foam tiles underneath for a colorful, fun, SAFE play area for our baby. She loves it! All of her toys are in there and she can play on her own without us having to worry about her getting into something she shouldn't.

It's a LIFESAVER for us as parents - we can step away while cooking, cleaning up, etc. (Obviously, never good to leave a child unattended, but as you're puttering about the house, this thing is IDEAL).

I can't recommend this enough. I tell all parents. It's very light, super easy to put together (took me about 3 minutes total) and it's simple to transport, too. So if you're going to a park, grandma's house, whatever - just grab a few wall pieces and go. Great for outdoors, too.

My daughter just turned 1. She's been in this for two months now, and will probably use it for a long time to come.

You just have to get this - and get two if you have the room for them.

Great Item - CDA -
Love this! Would have been nice to have a few more toys on it and on all panels instead of just the one. The phone is easily lost, I understand that they don't need a cord on it, but why make something removable? Could have been another toy. All in all, it is a good product and is used on a regular basis in my home. Also, the door is a pain, but once you get used to it (or just stepping over it)... It does serve it's purpose.

I bought two sets for my twins' 1 yr birthday present and have used it for four months. It has worked FABULOUSLY!! Two sets joined together make enough room for the two of them and enough toys to share, and when they get cranky and fight we can separate them in their own play yard. It breaks down easily for transport to other less toddler-friendly locations, though cumbersome for transport, they appreciate the room it gives them more than a pack'n'play. It is easily cleaned with Clorox wipes if they make a mess on it. They have only escaped once, when one of the connecting pieces wasn't secured all the way.

It is most unfortunate that many wonderful parents feel that they lack competence in dealing with their autistic child. It can be strange and depressing to feel like your normal maternal or fatherly instincts can be wrong when it comes with interacting with your own child.

But parents usually go too far in the opposite direction and stop having any natural parent child interaction worrying that if they resort to normal parental behavior and maybe just fool around and talk nonsensically with their child, they will lose precious moments of intervention time.

Because children with autism don't recieve pleasure from simple games such as hiding go seek, peek a boo, or follow the leader and since they probably won't come running to you when you call out to them, parents need a whole new set of parenting skills which if they are not careful, can add more stress to their already emotional lives.

Your child may have areas that need intervention but every child also has special areas of strength. Believe it or not, focusing on his or her areas of strength can be used to improve areas of weakness. For example let's say your child like books but does not engage in any kind of play. Rather than force him to play with a toy he doesn't like, start using books for imaginary play. Pretend to do what the characters in the book are doing. Use the books to work on social conversation and academic skills.

Remember to celebrate improvements, no matter how small they may be. And be sure to share the joy of your child's progress with the people who love him.

Finally don't forget every child wants and needs to feel loved by his parents. Any activity that you and your child enjoy together is precious whether its watching TV together or sharing and ice cream cone. Yes it's necessary to alter some of the ways of interacting with your child to facilitate his learning, it's equally necessary to maintain the basic loving relationship of parent and child and if you only think yourself as his therapist, then you need to find your way back to being a loving parent again.

Baby Trend Columbia Play Yard - Green/ Gray Review

We got this item since we wanted an extra bassinet for our lower floor where baby could sleep in and hopefully use it later as well. Instead of outgrowing it in a few months. Very happy with the purchase. The play yard is a bit heavy but sturdy too, which is important and has a set of wheels on one end. The bassinet feature with the mobile and canopy is great for a little baby. We found a thin baby mattress of the exact dimensions at Baby depot and used that to make baby more comfortable. The music attachment and extra caddies to store baby supplies is great and has drawn wows from visitors. I also like that the colors are are not too flashy and it blends in our living room quite well.
Cons - the music is ok, but when I tried the mp3 jack to connect the ipod the quality wasn't good. But the music box can be detached and placed anywhere else so its not really tied to the play yard.
Overall, glad with the purchase and highly recommend it.

The Baby Trend Columbia Play Yard was really easy to assemble (a huge plus for me as i am really bad at this sort of thing). It took only a few minutes and was very intuitive.
it also is like a swiss army knife! Every inch of the unit has a purpose and it has multiple uses. It is great as a crib and has 2 settings for the crib, a changing station, a playpen..storage etc. The wheels and the lightwieght make it easy to move around. It folds into a suitcase sized rectangle and with it's carring case you can throw it in the trunk and take it with you (or take it on a plane either checked in or carry on.).

Post Game Analysis - Eagles Vs Cowboys

The Eagles had a real nice opportunity last night to put themselves in a great position in the NFC East but failed to do so. They were inconsistent on both sides of the ball and really struggled to get much going offensively. Our short yardage game was down right embarrassing and it was a completely frustrating game to watch. Let's take a look at some of the positives and negatives from last night.

Positives:
LeSean McCoy - He still needs some work on the "other" things but he did have 115 total yards on 18 touches last night. His big highlight of the night came on a 45 yard screen play where he got behind a line of blockers and was able to make a big play. I think he dances around a little too much and still scares me to death by the way he carries the ball, but he's coming around.

First half defense - I was pretty happy with the way the defense played in the first half of this game. They were able to make a stand at the end of the half and force Dallas to kick a field goal rather than take a lot of momentum into the locker room. Tony Romo was running all over the place because the defensive line was getting good pressure.

Brent Celek - This guy just impresses me every game. He is a monster and a guy that I enjoy watching every game.

Ellis Hobbs - Although it got called back, it was nice to see a little flash from Hobbs last night. He hasn't done a whole lot in terms of returns this year but that return makes you think he's due soon. Could have been a whole different ball game if that counted. The Eagles scored anyway, but giving up big plays like that hurts the ego.

Negatives:
Donovan McNabb - The guy established no rhythm and his passes were not hitting their targets. His play looked very sloppy and this was a time where he couldn't afford to play like that. I think he held the ball a bit too long on a few plays as well.

Penalties - Yes there were some bad calls, but overall it felt like there was a flag down on every other play. There were 19 total penalties in the game including eight penalties for 82 yards on the Eagles. Moise Fokou had two penalties that really put a damper on big plays by the Eagles.

Play calling - Absolutely horrible. It took multiple series before the Eagles started to actually try to run the ball although they averaged about four yards per rush on the night. Also, they waited way too long to try and set up a screen play. The first one, the big play to McCoy, came in the third quarter.

Short yardage - This has got to be one of the most frustrating things you can have. The inability to pick up a yard on third and fourth down is just horrific. You have a huge quarterback and a big ole fullback and just can't get a yard. It's terrible.

Game management - To go hand in hand with the terrible play calling, terrible game management by Andy Reid. Of course he gives the same old BS in his press conference about how he'd do it different if he could do it over again. Too bad there are no do-overs in the NFL Andy. Get it together.

Second half defense - Sheldon Brown on Miles Austin's touchdown. Are you kidding me? You had a man underneath and he was a good 5-7 yards short of the first down when you bit on it. He only had one catch all game but that was all he needed. Then at the end of the game they just feed Marion Barber and we fail to stop him. Sure it would have been nice to have some timeouts left but we didn't. Have to step up when the game is on the line.

Akeem Jordan - I'm happy with how he played, but the negative is him getting injured. If you saw a slow motion replay of when he got injured it was sickening. He was the only remaining starting linebacker from the beginning of the season and now may miss time. Our linebacker rotation was messed up enough how it is, this isn't going to help.

Losing - This is always a negative but this loss really hurts. It seems every time the Eagles have a game later in the day and the Giants lose beforehand, the Eagles can never gain any ground. They had a real good opportunity here but failed to get a win. They head out west this weekend to take on a San Diego who is coming off a big come from behind win against the Giants. Eagles really need to tighten it up.

Just What I Expected - Mommy of True -
The gates arrived during the week and we installed them on the weekend. We had two very large openings and this gate was one of the only that would fit in the openings. The other gates had received very poor reviews. The gates look fantastic! The coloring and design fit very nicely with our decor. The only thing we did differently, as recommended by other reviewers, was to use longer wood screws to install the gates. We were able to place them where we could drill directly into studs and I would recommend that if you do not have studs near where you are installing to get a "bumps and bruises" when she crawls into or falls into the barrier.

We used two of the panels to fit an opening 80" wide. The installation was easy and quick. We are using it to keep our dogs in the kitchen and away from the new furniture. The mesh siding does a great job of keeping the dog hair contained. The gate is a little inconvenient to close because you have to line up the top and bottom, but not difficult. My husband often steps or trips on the bottom of the gate opening, but it's held up just fine so far.

just put this gate up alittle while ago & like it alot.. used it to cover 2 stair cases.. didn't want to get 2 seperate gates for the bottom of 1 set of stairs & another gater for the top of the other set.. so this killed 2 birds with 1 stone quite nicely..but my only issues are that the bars seem kind of wide @ the bendable parts i'm pretty thin & can fit MY arm up to the elbow inbetween them..& the gate is kind of a pain to close.. to get the bottom & top in @ the same time on the 1st try takes an act of congress.. so it takes a min to get it done.. wish it was automatic closure like some other gates...but would buy it again so far.. we'll see how it works when my baby's old enough to want to push on it and such.. she only rolls around for now..

Cardinal Pet Gates Stairway Special Gate, White Review

This gate installs much like others of its genre - a metal bracket is mounted on the wall, eyebolts are screwed into the gate, and a vertical rod serves as the hinge. On the latch side, a smaller bracket is installed on the wall and a bracket with a couple of pins is attached to the gate. The latch mechanism has two arms terminating in hooks which grip a washer-shaped part to hold the gate pins into the latch bracket. In operation, one pushes down on the two tabs to release the hooks, then pulls upward to release the gate proper. Easier to operate than to describe!

Since we were installing this on an outdoor deck with metal railing, we did not want to drill into the railing posts. While similar parts are available from the manufacturer [...], we cut 4" x 1.5" x 0.75" pieces of redwood and used galvanized hex bolts to form clamps to go around the railing posts. We mounted the hinge and latch brackets to these redwood blocks. We did purchase the "outdoor hardware pack" from the vendor to obtain stainless steel eyebolts, screws, and other bits Cardinal Gates Stainless Steel Hardware for SS30.

Our only complaint is that the gate had, applied to one end, what we call "lawyer tags" - dire warnings that theoretically absolve liability. These were quite ugly, were not even applied neatly (they were crooked and one had been applied over another), and were quite difficult to remove without damaging the finish. We finally used penetrating oil and a plastic putty knife. While we understand the (unfortunate) necessity of companies to provide these warnings, they should at least not impact the appearance of the product, or should be reasonably easy to remove.

Overall, we would recommend this product.

This is the easiest gate I have ever had to install!! And I mean I have installed a number of them. It is also very easy to operate. I can even do so holding my 1 year old which was always a pain with my other gates. In fact it kind of looked so easy to me compared that I was worried my 3 yr old would figure it out like she does everything else in no time. Well it has not happened yet. You pay more than other gate but it is all worthy it.

I agree that it's easy to install this gate. I bought the original, plus the 10-inch extension to fit the stairway on my deck (stop my toddlers falling down the 5 steps to the yard below).

I'm sorry, I just don't see how this could be easy for anyone to open. I understand how the mechanism is supposed to work (pinch the little tabs together, and lift). I don't know whether my particular unit had a thicker-than-usual coat of paint that makes it all a lot stiffer to operate than it needs to be. I can definitely say that tabs you pinch with your fingers could be bigger.

Overall, the whole thing is too stiff to operate with one hand. I'm keeping it because I typically only need to shut it while the kids are out on the deck, then leave it open the rest of the time, and it's hard to find an operable gate in this width (53").

We have been using this gate for two months now, and we are very pleased. I was looking for a gate all metal (no plastic pieces) and this one.
Opening with one hand is easy.
Installation was a little trouble for me since one side was dry wall. It took me some research to find out about molly-bolts (an anchor type for drywall) to use for drywall. I wonder why they did not include a set in the package.

What makes a golf handicap really mean?

When you play a game of golf, you probably handicap index) calculated on the part of Ghines System (Golf Handicap and Information Network. Part 1: The set-up
At nine months pregnant, I set this up almost entirely by myself, except when I got to the newborn napper attachment where I needed more muscle (reading reviews of other colors of the pack n'play I see this is a common problem). The instructions are kind of counter-intuitive because they will give you an instruction for setting something up and then you'll get to another part and have to undo what you did. The instructions are simply too concise. You might want to read the entire instruction book before starting. The unit seems sturdy, no parts were missing, and the Lowery colors are great-- gender neutral and not baby-ish (goes well with our decor).

As we use the pack n'play I will edit this review.

Great Playard, only one flaw - kspen18 -
This is a great play yard. It had everything I wanted. The only thing bad (and I think this might be the case with the majority of play yards) the changer started sagging or getting weighed down on the side that was not attached to the play yard. So after 1 month of using it, or less, the baby started rolling to one side. Finally we decided it wasn't worth it and went to change him in the nursery. All in all it was a great buy and we got a lot of use out of it as a play yard and bassinet.

I was looking for a play pen to help house break our new puppy. The height and size of the Summer Infant Secure Surround Play Safe Play Yard looked like just what I needed. I read previous reviews on this product to be aware of the pros and cons before deciding to purchase it. The pen was delivered within the stated time frame. Assembly was super easy because it came assembled. If the pen is to be used for children, just be aware that it is light weight and can be moved around by the children playing inside of it. It is perfect for kennel training your puppy. A puppy could possibly learn to climb up the pen, but that is yet to be a problem with our pup. I did have to remove 2 panels to further limit the space because of continued "accidents" by our pup and that problem went away. After a month of usage, I am completely satisfied with this product.

Just what I needed - Rosie -
After researching many baby and pet play pens I decided on this one. I am sure glad I did. This was the most value for my money and turned out to be just what I needed. We have a new labrador puppy and I didn't want to use a traditional dog crate. He's about 11 weeks now and he loves it, goes right to it to take a nap. This pen is well made and easy to put together and take down. It's tall enough for now and gives him enough room to have seperate areas for sleep, eat and potty pad if needed (hasn't had to use it though :)
I work in a large pet store chain store and feel this is better than the metal ones we sell, based both on quality and price.

This is the second time I have bought this item.. when my grandson was 1 yr old, I bought this to use in the house
as a play area to keep him safe. We also used this as an outside play area, at the beach, in the backyard
and when visiting friends. Of course, his parents won't let it out of their hands, so now, he is three and I bought a second one to have here at my house and use it as a double protection in front of my pool gate and to seperate the dog from the living room when baby is here. It is an awesome product and very easy to set up and take down and take with you and to store. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND this product for anyone with little ones!!!
