*Part 12* - Last week the police barricade was further out distancing itself from the actuall embassy gates. However today because of the shear number of people and human pressure from all sides the police had to go further back in giving us more room. People got very up and close to the police at the front line, there were officers on roof tops taking photographs of protestors and were also filming from all corners. I was really squeezed in at one point, people were moving and weaving seemlessly out of control side to side as if it were a large human waterbed. Being a tall healthy person myself i feared for my safety at one point, people were pushing so much like i had never experienced before. I was so squeezed and trampled upon i could no longer continue to film. Some sufferd from asthma attacks and others were returning back injured from the front line. I even witnessed a journalist who was hit and injured coming back with a broken hand as police hit people with their battons indiscriminately. Eventually my phone battery had ran out so i could only do very little. Clearly the police were out numbered, later i saw one individual protestor with a police hat and another had a police sheild which was obtained as trophies. Over 100000+ people had turned out today making it one of the biggest demonstrations held to date. People from across the UK had turned out to support Palestine in London today. 5 More Ways to Childproof Your Home

Young children are naturally curious, and have a tendency to explore their surroundings. However, this exploration and discovery can often lead the child into areas that are potentially harmful. A previous article written by this author presented an overview of five (5) child safety devices that you can easily install yourself to help protect your child from injury in the home. The article included a look at safety gates, safety latches, doorknob covers, window guards, and corner bumpers. This article will continue that overview by presenting five more things you can do to keep your young child safe in the home.

1) Smoke detector. We all know we need smoke detectors in our house, but do we have one installed at every level, and near every bedroom in the house- especially near your child's bedroom? If you don't, then adding additional smoke detectors in your home will increase the safety factor in your home. Smoke detectors are essential for early fire warning and prevention of fire-related injury and death.

Also, you should test your smoke detectors monthly to make sure they're working. Most smoke detectors have a small button that you press to test the unit with. Additionally, be sure to check the batteries in your smoke detector at least once per year. A good time to schedule battery replacement at the New Year-on or about January 1st

2) Electrical outlet covers. It's important you cover your electrical outlets to protect your children from possible electrical shock or even electrocution. Outlet covers have two prongs on one side that you plug into the outlet so children can't insert anything into the outlet. Covers should be large enough that children can't choke on them, and plugged into securely enough that they can't be easily removed.

3) Anti-scald valves. Hot water can cause nearly instantaneous burns on babies and young children as their skin is much more sensitive than adults. Install an anti-scald valve in your faucets and shower heads and set your water heater temperature to 118 degrees Fahrenheit to help prevent burns from hot water. This device may be more difficult to install, and you may need to hire a plumber to install it for you. Whether you do it yourself or you hire a plumber, installing anti-scald valves will help protect your children from a scalding burn.

4) Carbon Monoxide Detector. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless, invisible gas that comes from incompletely burned fuel. Potential sources of CO in the home include gas stoves, wood stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, space heaters, gas water heaters, auto exhaust, gasoline-powered generators, and tobacco smoke, among others. You can reduce risk of carbon monoxide poisoning by installing CO detectors outside bedrooms and other sleeping areas in your home.

5) Child monitoring system. If your child is out of sight in another room, perhaps taking a nap or playing with toys, a child monitoring system can help you keep an eye and ear on your child. Systems come in two basic configurations: audio and video. With an audio monitor, there's a transmitter which is placed in the child's area and receiver which the parent uses to listen to the child. With a video monitor, there is a small camera that is in the child's room and a video receiver that the parent can watch to keep an eye on the child.

In conclusion, we have looked at five more ways we can child-proof the home, including installing smoke detectors, electrical outlet covers, anti-scald valves, carbon monoxide detectors, and child monitoring systems. Although some of these devices may be more expensive to install than others previously examined, it will be worth your while to install them for the safety of your children and your entire family. After all, what is more valuable and irreplaceable than our kids and our family?

The coupling between them works by means of a drawbar which is connected to the steering arm of the rear bus - so that it just follows the driving one. Effectively therefore the principle is very similar to a road vehicle pulling a trailer - except that here both vehicles are powered. Once coupled the twin-set combinations would normally remain coupled (unless the workshops disconnected them). So the rear vehicle would not normally drive 'solo'. I was looking for a play pen to help house break our new puppy. The height and size of the Summer Infant Secure Surround Play Safe Play Yard looked like just what I needed. I read previous reviews on this product to be aware of the pros and cons before deciding to purchase it. The pen was delivered within the stated time frame. Assembly was super easy because it came assembled. If the pen is to be used for children, just be aware that it is light weight and can be moved around by the children playing inside of it. It is perfect for kennel training your puppy. A puppy could possibly learn to climb up the pen, but that is yet to be a problem with our pup. I did have to remove 2 panels to further limit the space because of continued "accidents" by our pup and that problem went away. After a month of usage, I am completely satisfied with this product.

We bought this for our dog and we set it up like a wall instead of an enclosed pen. We ran it in a zig-zag pattern so that it will stand up. Obviously this is not as sturdy as connecting it. However, for our purposes, it is sturdy enough. The "door" rests against one wall and easily opens to allow you to get through. The quailty seems pretty good. We have had it for over a month now and we are very pleased with it. I found it to be a good value for the money.

Baby Bath Safety Makes For Happy Babies

A new baby is completely dependent on his or hers parents for care, and this includes keeping clean. Baby baths can be an enjoyable experience for both baby and parents if care and safety is taken into account. Before you even begin to bath your baby, be sure to have all items such a washcloth, towel, soap, shampoo, clean diaper and clothes are readily available. You do not want to leave the baby unattended to go grab an item you forgot to place out.

Babies can be bathed in a number of places. You can purchase a baby tub for the sink, the bathtub or you can bathe your child in the kitchen sink the old fashioned way. If you choose to bathe baby in the sink, be sure to place a towel or a rubber mat in the sink so that the child does not slip. A normal adult tub or an unlined sink is too slippery to bath your child safely, so this should be avoided.

The water temperature of the baby bath should be about 90 degrees. Never place your baby under running water, and always test the water with your wrist or elbow before placing your baby in the tub. The water should only be about 2 to 3 inches high, too much water is unsafe and the tub should never be full enough to cover the babies head.

To safely bathe your baby, always keep one hand on the baby and gently wash with the other. Holding your baby by the armpit is a great way to maintain control, and prevents baby from slipping out of your hand. Paying close attention to your baby is the most important part of keeping your baby safe. Always focus your attention on the baby, and never try to talk on the phone or become distracted during bath time. If something needs attention, remove the baby from the tub first and take him or her with you. Never leave your baby unattended!

9 Ways to Play More Consistent Golf

On the golf course we have all glimpsed what it's like in the 'zone'. For some, the zone is more elusive than for others. Think back to that round where all of your putts just seemed to drop or where you hit fairway after fairway with scary straight drives. We all have a little Tiger in us but it's like trapping lightning in a bottle. Consistency is what drives golfers crazy, from touring pro to amateur. But there are things we can do to set us up for success on the links. Here are 9 ways to play more consistent golf:

9) Warm Up. Don't wait until the 5th hole to feel fully loose and ready to play. By then, a couple of double bogeys have already ruined a potentially low round. Spend a half hour stretching your core muscles and hitting some balls and visit the practice green to develop some feel for speed. Hit some long lag putts because that's probably what you are going to face.

8) Develop Amnesia. If you do hit a bad shot or two, forget about it. Use the remaining holes as an opportunity to redeem yourself. Dwelling on a bad drive or chunking a chip shot will only lead to negative thoughts and duck hooks.

7) Play within yourself. You know what shots you can make and those you can't. Play to your strengths. That may mean laying up on a par 5 or pulling out an iron off the tee but playing smart leads to more consistency. And lose the ego. If you are a 15 handicapper, than the back tees are not for you. Play the tee blocks that are designed for your handicap (generally, the tips are for 0-9 handicappers, the forward tees 30+, and the middle tees for the rest).

6) Stay away from the beer cart. Unless you are buying a bottle of water or sports drink. Alcoholic and caffeinated beverages promote dehydration. To ensure optimum performance, you need to stay hydrated on the course. Dehydration will lead to cramping, fatigue, a lack of focus, and ultimately, higher golf scores.

5) Play more club and read more break. In a recent round with my club pro, I asked him what mistakes amateurs make the most. He said that the most common mistakes he has seen are players who do not take enough club when hitting into the green and don't read enough break in their putts leaving them short and on the low side.

4) Schedule off-season practice sessions. Take advantage of all that indoor training facilities have to offer. Make a point of using a simulator with the sole purpose of just actually practicing. While hitting balls in the driving bays, make sure to use all of the clubs in your bag and not just the big dog. In your mind, construct potential situations that you might face on the golf course and design shots for them. Make the practice session fun and before you know it, you'll groove a more consistent swing. Oh yeah, and before you go home, take your putter to the practice green for a half hour.

3) Exercise regularly. Your regular 18-hole Saturday game, complete with golf cart and 6 pack, does not constitute exercise. Develop a daily exercise routine that focuses on flexibility, strengthening your core muscle groups, and promotes endurance and solid balance. This might mean taking a trip to your local fitness center and talking with a personal trainer.

2) Set specific goals. One of my favorites is to see how many balls I can avoid losing during a round. Invariably, if I have only lost one or two, my score is better. Challenging yourself to hit fairways and greens is also an excellent way to focus on a goal. Start with a few and work your way up. Perhaps the most important one is putts. Keep track of how many putts you take during your next few rounds and record your lowest number. Take this number with you each time to the course with the goal of beating it. Reduce the number of putts you take per round and I guarantee you'll shoot lower scores consistently.

1) And if you find yourself in the middle of a low round, don't get ahead of yourself. Stay relaxed and calm. Nothing defeats the 'zone' more than tension and lack of focus. Worrying about that 200 yard par 3 coming up won't matter if you blow the next 4 holes. Stay in the moment and play the shot that's in front of you now. Focus is like a shared internet connection. It's not effective when there are too many demands on it.

While we can't always play like PGA touring professionals, we can spend some time in the 'zone'. The trick is getting their more often and knowing how to handle it when we are lucky enough to experience it. Playing consistent golf is a challenge for us all but the answer to overcoming this obstacle lies in the path we chose for our journey.

Recent Bassinet Recall by Consumer Product Safety Commission

Multiple government and private organizations are responsible for monitoring of the safety standards of baby furnitures, including U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This results in frequent recalls of childrens products, however, awareness of these recalls by the owners are of paramount importance for effective avoidance of dangers caused by these recalled items. This prompted me to present this article in this forum with the hope of reaching someone who may not otherwise visit the CPSC recall web site.

On December 30, 2009 U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., of Columbus, Ind., announced a voluntary recall of the Safety 1st Disney Care Center Play Yard and Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yard baby bassinets. This will involve approximately 213,000 units. The play yards are portable and were sold with a bassinet attachment and a built-in changing station. Model numbers 05025, 05026, 05037, 05088 and 05350 are included in this recall. The model number is printed on a sticker on one of the support legs underneath the play yard. "Safety 1st" or "Eddie Bauer" are printed near the bottom of the fabric sides of the play yards. CPSC recognized the following safety hazzard: The one piece metal bars supporting the floorboard of the bassinet attachment can come out of the fabric sleeves and create an uneven sleeping surface. This can pose a risk of suffocation or positional asphyxiation. No infant death or hospitalization has been reported. These bassinets are made in China and imported in the United States by Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., of Columbus, Ind.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. CPSC announces recalls of products that present a significant risk to consumers either because the product may be defective or violates a mandatory standard issued by CPSC. Please make it a habit to check the recall list at the CPSC web site periodically, especially for childrens furniture and play items if you are parents or caregiver of young children.

We know he was sold and believe he was a gift to a family member. May have been taken out of state. We think he is still here in Florida, possibly even Tampa. But there where leads to: One lead people who bought a dog that looked like him where from Charlette or Charletteville in NC, SC or VA city was one or the other, state was on the East Coast. There were also people here working from NJ - NYC area, Chicago, IL & San Diego, CA at the time. Same time many that winter here were returning to Canada.
