When you first enter onto Kana Castle カナのしろ grounds, a guard will greet you and take you to the king. The king will tell you that there is a cave off to your right which will lead to a room with a switch in it. When you push the switch, it'll open up the front gates. He'll stay here and pray for your safety. I cut out a few random encounters due to time constraints (yay Youtube...). Don't forget to use an antidote ドクケシソウ before walking across the flowers. As you are going through the cave, note the x-shaped marking on the wall. If you go investigate it, it'll open up a secret passage which leads to a chest containing a lvl 9 mail. Before you go down the stairs, if you are not in full health, I would recommend using an herb ハーブ since there will be a fight coming up very soon. After you've gone up the stairs, there will be some short dialogue. Here's roughly what it says: Pyne パイン: I can hear something. Yopinas ヨピナス: Alright! We'll certainly be able to hold the castle! Henchman: ...this smell! Lord Yopinas, I smell humans! Yopinas: What? Speak you the truth? Troops head out for battle! Kill them without fail!! Henchmen: Yes m'lord. Gene ジーン: Ha ha ha ha... Looks like they got you there Pyne... Pyne: There's nothing we can do about it. Anyway, let's hurry! Henchmen: We found you! Pyne: Monsters! After defeating them (or vice-a-versa), head back out to the front gate. One of the guards tells you that there are a total two hidden passages in the castle ...
