What To Buy For Your Newborn Baby

If your a first time mother you may find yourself wanting to buy every cute outfit that you see. Every stuffed animal, every little diaper, every little toy. You get my point. So before you buy out Babies R Us, here are some tips to help you figure out what your baby will need, without overbuying.

If your not a first time mother than you know that your baby will grow out of clothes before your baby has even worn them once. My baby skipped the whole 3 to 6 month sized clothes leaving me with a wardrobe he couldn't even use. To avoid this, buy larger clothes as your baby grows. Of course there are gifts for baby that you will receive so keep them in mind and don't forget about them.

Before buying for your baby, that you are going to have a baby shower, and when you register, register for the things that you will need, first and then register for the things you want. That way at your baby shower you will get both things you want and things you need. Also you won't have to buy as much for your baby, saving you both time and money. With a brand new baby on the way, every penny counts.

Keep in mind any hand me downs that you may receive from a friend or family member and although you may want all brand new things for your baby. Your baby will grow so fast that these hand me downs can really help you out.

Don't buy items that your baby won't need right away, i.e a highchair, or toys that your baby can't use right away, they will just sit there and take up room. Wait until you need them and then buy what you need. You won't need a highchair or feeding chair until your baby is 4-6 months in age.

A good thing to do is to buy mostly 6-9 month clothes, it is better that your baby has some growing room then to have a shirt that baby will grow out of in a matter of weeks. Of course if your baby is a preemie or just extremely small buy what size your baby will need.

Remember that you don't know how big your baby will be when your baby is born, so keep all your receipts and keep everything in its packages, so if baby is bigger then newborn or 3-6 month clothes you haven't wasted money on a ward robe that you can't use.

When buying clothes for your baby, think comfort not fashion, a few ohs and ahs aren't worth a uncomfortable fussy baby.

Wait to see what you get for gifts, and then see what you will need, it's better to have a few things that you baby will need then have 3 of everything. You need the necessities, undershirts, warm pajamas, diapers, but you don't need to go overboard.

Have fun shopping for your baby.
